The Essential Guide to Digital Jewelry Design is a bilingual exercise book, in Japanese and English, that introduces the world of CAD Jewelry Design using Rhino - the most versatile 3D modeling program - and the Grasshopper plug-in which is integrated into the newest versions of Rhino, known as a GAE (Graphical Algorithm Editor). With the help of Grasshopper algorithms, you can create modeling procedures easily, enable simulations, modify, iterate and find better results by manipulating parameters. The book helps you understand how to recreate your jewelry designs on the computer using these latest computational design techniques, teaching tips and tricks to achieve certain results, and generally maximise your workflow and possibilities. Learn to build both simple and complex designs, and use the tips to extend your knowledge base for more advanced 3D Jewelry modeling.

Supplementary to the book exercises we have provided 3 level packs with the actual 3D models on Gumroad - the first two packs are entry level and for free, the last 3 advanced packs are for a price of US$38 in one bundle. The physical models on Gumroad facilitate the learning and do not come with the purchase of the book, although we highly recommend using them for a better learning experience.
