OpeningTools is a set of Grasshopper components to be used to create parametric windows and doors that can be used in VisualARQ Grasshopper styles or stand-alone.
EDIT: The files have been updated to the correct version and now contain the plugin itself.
The components were written to simplify some of the steps typically used in VisualARQ Grasshopper styles and to introduce other features that are not possible with the built-in editor:
- alignment in walls and inside frames
- custom frame profiles
- custom opening profiles
- plan and elevation symbols for rotating and sliding parts
- precise specification of rotation axis (e.g. for pivot doors)
- simple subdivision of frames, both horizontal and vertical
- simple generation of transoms and mullions with custom profiles
OpeningTools is still in development, and is not recommended to be used in production work. It is not necessary to have VisualARQ installed to be able to use the components.
Installation: Start Grasshopper and open File > Special Folders > Components Folder. Copy the .gphy file to this location and restart Rhino.
