This is the first release of the Slideshow plug-in for Grasshopper.

While preparing the tutorial for Anemone plugin I found the Named Views inconvienient to use when you take different screen resolutions and different document editor sizes into consideration (the latter is actually just a user preference). Also in the past I wanted to do whole presentation for a workshop in Grasshopper, but it was impossible to do it correctly while not knowing the projector resolution.

The Slideshow component solves all of the above problems by fitting the view to a component group (select components > ctrl+g). It's fairly easy to use, as you can see in the video embedded below. One thing to remember is that group names used with Slideshow have to be unique (no 2 or more groups with the same name).

You can switch the slides with controller's buttons, type-in box, right and left arrow keys, other software* designed for presentations and probably (not tested) presentation remotes.

Tested with GH release 0.9.0014 and 0.9.0066.

*Tested with PCRemote Windows Phone App (works with Powerpoint settings).

I have tested this project, but it is the first release and it might contain still bugs. Please use it "as is", it does not come with warranties. I spent a lot of time developing the logic and implementing it, please give credit where credit is due.

To install:

  • In Grasshopper, choose File > Special Folders > Components folder. Save the gha file there.
  • Right-click the file > Properties > make sure there is no "blocked" text
  • Restart Rhino and Grasshopper
